These are the times: Social Distancing
What a difference, a day, a week, a month, or a year makes. Who would have thought that we would be living in a time where life truly feels like a movie? As we flip through the channels on our televisions or stroll through our social media feed, worry, fear, or anxiety can easily seep in.
Whether one subscribes to the seriousness of the nature of events or believes in a hidden agenda, notion, or theory, reflection is needed. It is no mystery that we tend to reflect during high-stress situations. For some of us, life was already stressful enough. The last thing we need is to focus on the potentially damaging effects of the Coronavirus.
For me, I focused on the impact of the social distancing component. I mean, seriously, haven’t we distanced ourselves enough. That’s when it hit me. See, for many of us, this social distancing may not be a bad thing. Being quarantined or isolate may not necessarily be that horrible after all. For many of us, it will force us to deal with the thing that we’ve avoided the most, ourselves.
This is when we understand the power of an hour, a minute, a second, a moment. If anything let us take this moment to unplug and reflect. It is not often we get time to stop and regroup. Life has been quite the journey with some beautiful precious, moments. Maybe now is the time to pick- back-up that hobby you’ve laid to the side or play that favorite song you’ve been too busy to hear. Whatever you do, don’t place any more distance between you and yourself. Become reacquainted with the incredibleness that you possess. Reawaken the awesome creative within. Reconnect with love. You are love and you are loved.
